A Mission Begins
Social Spin Inc. was founded by Christy Moore in 2017 as a for-profit laundromat uniquely driven by a community-centered approach. Inspired by its growing impact, the Social Spin Foundation was established in 2021 to increase supportive services available to clients — including free weekly laundry days, health care, job fairs, hot meals, hygiene items, educational classes and more — while laying the groundwork for a broader mission nationwide.
Meeting a Greater Need
After providing over 3,500 free loads of laundry to her community, Christy recognized that access to clean clothes was a deeper issue requiring nonprofit-level support. Drawing on her two decades of nonprofit leadership, she formed a board, filed for 501(c)(3) status, and appointed the Foundation’s first CEO to expand this work with long-term sustainability.
Two Paths, One Purpose
Social Spin, Inc. now focuses on growing its business while the Foundation leads all charitable efforts. Though distinct, both are united by a commitment to dignity and clean clothes. The Foundation drives its mission forward by advocating for clean clothes as a basic need, offering direct services, and serving as a model for laundromats everywhere.

Our Mission & Values: More Than Laundry, Building Community
At Social Spin Foundation, we believe everyone deserves a fresh start, which can begin with something as simple as clean clothes. Every week, we provide no-cost laundry services to our Phoenix, Mesa, and Glendale neighbors in need, creating a safe, welcoming space where dignity is restored and care begins.
But we don’t stop at laundry. We believe laundromats should be vibrant community hubs, places that celebrate opportunity, wellness and connection!
Our award-winning model transforms a weekly chore into a chance to meet people where they are, build trust, and link them to vital resources. It’s not just about washing clothes, it’s about creating community, one load at a time.
Laundromats as Community Hubs
Laundry is a weekly routine for most people, and laundromat visits typically last 90 to 120 minutes, with 30 to 45 minutes of downtime between wash and dry cycles.
These are high-traffic spaces, where each machine is used multiple times a day by different customers, most of whom live within a two-mile radius.
This rhythm creates a powerful opportunity: we’re able to build genuine relationships with our neighbors, earn their trust, and connect them to vital services during their natural downtime. By meeting people where they already are, we embed care, connection, and community support into an everyday chore.
For these reasons, we’re more than just a laundromat.
